Tang Primer 25K FPGA Kit
GOWIN GW5A-LV25
Introduction
Tang Primer 25K is a minuscule core board based on the Gowin GW5A-LV25MG121C1/I0 FPGA chip, measuring only 23 x 18 mm. The kit also includes the 25K Dock base board, which breaks out all pins except the MIPI high-speed pins. The core board features 23,040 LUT4 logic units, 23,040 registers (FF), 1008K Block SRAM, 6 PLLs and 64 Mbit NOR Flash. Thanks to its very small size, it can be used in all kinds of space-constrained applications. A USB gamepad can be connected to the Dock base board, a 40-pin SDRAM module can be plugged in, and an HDMI display and a PS2 gamepad can be connected via the 3 PMOD interfaces to build a typical RetroGame console setup. It can also be paired with Sipeed's PMOD module series for use in FPGA university teaching.

Attention and Best Practices
- Troubleshooting: If you encounter any issues, consult the Tang Questions page first. If the onboard debugger is not recognized by the computer, connect the board directly to the computer instead of through a USB hub, try a better quality USB cable and, if necessary, update the debugger firmware to the latest version.
- IDE Version: Tang Primer 25K requires Gowin IDE V1.9.9Beta-4 or newer.
- Selecting the Correct Device: If there is no response after programming or the pins do not behave as expected, make sure the correct FPGA device (GW5A-LV25MG121) is selected in the IDE.

Sipeed Tang Primer 25K Kit is an FPGA development kit consisting of the 23x18 mm Tang Primer 25K core board, based on the Gowin GW5A-LV25 FPGA chip, and the 25K Dock base board, which breaks out all pins except the MIPI high-speed pins. The core board offers 23,040 LUT4 logic units, 1008K Block SRAM, 6 PLLs, 64Mbit NOR Flash, 75 general-purpose IOs and 4-lane MIPI IO.
With its onboard high-speed JTAG+UART debugger, a USB-A port that can be used as a USB1.1 Host, a 2x20 pin header supporting an SDRAM module and 3 PMOD interfaces, the Dock base board covers a wide range of uses, from RetroGame projects to FPGA education.
